Delete your account

You can delete your REC'D BY account yourself, any time, from inside the app. Here's how, and what happens when you do.

How to delete your account

  1. Sign in to REC'D BY at recdby.app/login (families) or recdby.app/sitter/login (sitters).
  2. Open the menu (☰) and choose Settings.
  3. Scroll to Delete account, type your household or profile name to confirm, and choose Delete.

Your account is closed immediately and you are signed out.

What is deleted

  • Your login and profile (name, photo, email, phone).
  • For a family: the household and its kid, pet and place profiles, sitters you added, private notes, messages and calendar — unless another member of your household still has an account, in which case the household stays with them and only your own profile is removed.
  • For a sitter: your profile, availability, rate card, private notes, hours and expenses.

What is kept

Some records are retained where the law or safety requires it, for a limited time: payment and payout records, records of reports or safety concerns, and information needed to resolve a dispute. Where a sitter was recommended or booked by more than one family, that family's own record of the recommendation is theirs and stays with them. See section 9 of the Privacy Policy.

Signed in with Facebook or Google?

Removing REC'D BY from your Facebook or Google account settings only disconnects that way of signing in — it does not delete your REC'D BY account, so a family never loses their household by tidying a login. To delete the account itself, use the steps above.

Can't sign in?

Send us a note through the contact form from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll confirm it's you and take care of it within 30 days.
